This list is based of opinions,and facts(Stats,moves,etc)I'm listing the one from of which I've played.Legendaries not included. This based off in competitions which would be the best. Turtwig is there cause turtwig is amazing.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
1.Staraptor
This Pokemon was seen in competitions in Pokemon Diamond extremely often in the Golden age of the Tournaments. He has insane stats in everything except defense.He has a lot of Physical Damage, but can learn Hyper beam, which make fighting this Pokemon extremely difficult. The fact staravia becomes this and rather quickly(Lvl34), This make this Pokemon all the more Poweful.
2.Gyrados
No explanation Needed
3.Garchomp
One of the fastest Pokemon and the toughest. First it's a dragon type. Second off all its got insane skills, and can dish out hell. This is why Sinnoh was so hard for me. This little prick right here.
4.Toxicroak
This more so of a personal pick but he is insane none the less.Stupidhigh damage, mediocre hp, he can dish out a beating.
5.Absol
He is a badass, and isn't a legendary. End of story
6.Weavile
Weavile is basically a minigun. Insanely fast and hurt like hell, but your extremely vulnerable. Weavile is lower then Toxicroak for the same reason as Absol, too squishy. If your facing a certain Pokemon, and you don't kill it fast enough surviving is hard. Toxicroak can outlast Weavile and Absol based of shear tanking.
7.Torterra
The God of tanking the only reason he is so low us cause the ice gym is God damn hard with this guy.
8.Magmar
He can tank & spank
8.Dusknoir
He is a cooler gengar
9.Yamega
He is a giant dragonfly that can fuk everything up
10.turtwig
I like Turtles.
I'll add the next list later.

Well for my money i'd say squirtle is the best pokemon.

If this is based of best Pokemon then I'm just gonna give some pointers.
Pikachu isn't a good Pokemon in competitions. He is good for beating the game however. You have make him evolve for competitive.
Mew, Mewtwo and all legendary Pokemon are banned from competitive. As far them in the game, they are somewhat OP, the Pokemon seen in competitive can destroy if you use the right move.
Kanto starters are not in johto, and only charivard is rfeally viable for competitive.
The others are good. (Onix is op normally, so steelix is just imbalanced)

Bisharp and Garchomp all the way. Can even sweep in Uber tier due to their fantastic abilities and move pools.

Charizard Y is best Charizard.

Pikachu is actually more viable than Raichu due to light ball (a pikachu exclusive hold item that multiplies its Sp. Attack by 1.5). Poor Raichu got kicked to the curb due to his pre-evolution being the franchises mascot.

Also Charizard pre having a mega evolution, like the rest of Kanto starters, was pretty much UU. Blaziken (and later Infernape, and later Mega Blaziken) just did everything charizard did but better, except for being immune to EQ.

Outside of competitive, my faves are

And quite a bunch of others. Ghost pokemon are really cool. I dunno I can never really answer what my favourite pokemon are, cuz theres just way too many to choose from.

Talking of pokemon i was thinking of getting the ol' red version once i get my 3ds in a couple weeks, used to play it a lot back when i had a gameboy colour. My favourite pokemon back then was (#93) Haunter, his sleep power and i think haunt(?) took out most enemies easilly. It kinda felt like cheating

And its a ghost pokemon haha, guess we have something in common Pencil!

Don't worry, I won't argue the point here. We just finished discussing that in the Ethnicities thread anyway, so there would be no point.

Many Pokemon are cool, though I've never owned it myself. I do enjoy occasionally playing Showdown or on a friend's game though.

My favorites are generally Electric, Steel, or Dragon. Probably why Magnezone is my avatar.

Hm, I managed to overlook this.

I refound my love of Pokemon over Christmas as a release of stress during my mocks, as opposed to games like Don't Starve, which while great take far too long to do anything (thus reducing revision) and get depressing at points.

Let's see. I always like the fire type starter, but only because I played Pearl first where one of the only fire types in the game was the starter, so Infernape is a favourite so me.
Scizor is really cool in looks and prowess, while Metagross is truly amazing offensively and offensively. Having got a shiny Luxray and 2 shiny pontya (One now a rapidash - Blue/Grey fire ftw!) it is my aspiration to get a shiny metagross. I am currently training a team to chain for one, and to hopefully get the right nature.

Pencil what mega-evos do you think should come in future? Kingdra holds a place in my heart for its nicely distributed stats, good typing offensively and defensively and a movepool that does JUST enough - but a Mega would really be great.

Maybe we could play Showdown or something at some point? *shrugs*

I personally have preferred water starters (in looks) every time, except third gen. Sceptile all the way!

Truly, Metagross is very offensive.

As for mega-evos, I don't know. Kingdra sounds cool, and I *would* like one for Magnezone.
My friend drew a full generation of pokemon (of my design) in a sketchbook, complete with megas. Perhaps I'll go find them.

I didnt play the game but i liked pokemon, i watched the anime and i collected some cards and that was till end of generation 4. The newer generations have some cool pokemons and 6th generation had most coolest but dont give me wrong there are bad designs and some bad stats but other than that i liked some pokemons especially the Dark type wich i liked the most type. Fairy type in newer generation wasnt a bad type and it made sence to calm down the most threatning types but poison and steel can handle it. I like some pokemons how they look and heres my favorite pokemons why i like them and i dont give a crap what you people say because thats my opinion.

Victini (my favorite of them all)

Yeah yeah Victini and Darkrai are legendary but i like how darkrai looks and Victini is the cutest pokemon in my opinion.
There are some i like and if there was 26 more of them i could have made a list of favorite pokemon if i made a team in each gen and 18 if it was an each type
