@Kingmaker the first games I played literally had only one Godfather and one Detective, since we enjoyed keeping it old school. There's lots of stuff you can do with just being vanilla. It's usually not clear when youre new to the game, but the more you play and the more you notice the small holes in people's posts, it gets easier.

Like nobody ever pointed out that you were highly likely to be the Detective. You survived a night attack AND said with confidence that there was a Jailkeeper. That meant two possible things:

A. You have a power role. You were saved by the Doc then roleblocked the next night.
B. You are the Detective. You saved yourself the first night via Bulletproof then got blocked the second.

Finding out who the Detective is usually gives Town a major advantage, since then you'll have a confirmed Townie who has the ability to confirm OTHER Townies, which is huge. Some games are even won just by the Town finding out who the Detective is and the Doc protecting him all throughout to systematically sniff out Mafia.

But it's still certainly possible to give everyone a role the next game. That isn't unheard of at all, and we can do that if y'all are game for a round 2 haha. Maybe we should even let people suggest what roles to use in the game. I have some ideas of my own that I'd like to put out :b .

I also think I've found a way to *sort of* let people choose what role they want. So like I said, if yall want a round 2 we can try that out :b .

Well kingmaker saying he has been jailed just confirms there is a jailer in the game, and the first time he got attacked he could be anyone saved by the doctor or detective so its still a 50 50 if he is a detective or not
And if he says he is jailed but has no power role, wouldnt he still had said the same?
