I'd not date someone unless they had both, but overall, personality ftw.

Also, don't forget the third option: status/wealth ;) .

I'd say personality, though appearance would obviously be a factor as well. ;)

Appearance IS part of your personality.

You make choices about your look that are directly based on your preferences and self-esteem.

That being said,
Sometimes, someone that might be labeled as unattractive by mainstream standards will be able to seduce anyone they want just based on personality.
For example, Mexican artist Frida Khalo... look her up. Her love life was, interesting, to say the least.
