Lord of the Rings: Battle For Middle Earth II

Talk about anything game related!

Regular, but I also ordered the expansion, which has yet to arrive in the mail. I'll give the latest version a chance, but if I don't like it, would I be able to uninstall the patch? I'd rather have better Mirkwood archers than worse, especially when the Elves are as UP as they are already.

Meh. I'll make heroes with less viable stats and abilities if it makes the game more balanced. Maybe I'll make one terrible hero for the AI to use and one OP hero of I want a challenge or to make it easier by using him/her myself.

No the custom heroes are fun to watch wreck house, but it gets a little boring.

Idk if you can un-install the patch, but it fixes many things, the things I mentioned are just the things it dosent fix and remain flawed.
There is an unofficial patch that fixes everything else. Just google it. There are also some Edain-mod equivalents for base BFME 2.

I love this game. I lost my copy a year ago and I'm stil super salty about it. Only flaws with the game were that you could not use Gimili(least I never found him). Only flaw. But in all it fealt that winning was easy. All u do is get 5 builders and build unit buildings, barracks and all sorts of stuff. I mean goblins were Overpowered. THEY JUST SWARM OVER YOUR WALLS AND FUK U. I hate em

5 builders? I've never tried that before...

The AI, even without using poison from the Goblins, is still really annoying with them. Goblins are definitely OP, especially because they have late-game variants of every unit available pretty easily compared to the 1 or 2 for every other faction. However, unlike the Dwarves, I don't find them as fun to play as. I'll still sometimes pick them, because even the worst parts of the game are still enjoyable, but I would rather use Mordor, which uses the concept of progressing your units to greater power much better and with greater coolness.

I only played goblins because of the spell lineage, and mountain Giants. As far as my fav race Uruks have that role, as they dealt with goblins surprisingly well.

I underestimated Isengard in my original ranking. Now it would be

6. Elves
5. Goblins
4. Men
3. Dwarves
2. Isengard
1. Mordor

Isengard is really good at taking out enemies almost instantly. Their archers and pikemen are so good that you never really need normal Uruk swordsmen. Get a couple of units and have them harass the enemy, and in the meantime, accumulate enough resources to rush siege weaponry or a hero to deal the final blow. They're really cool, even if the economic fortress upgrades other than the Burning Forges aren't able to reach the potential they could've had.

I still prefer Mordor because I get to have more fun with the diversity of units and their powers are better (Wyrms beat Watchers and Balrogs beat Dragons at destroying enemy bases) along with the Witch King being Saruman if he could fly and use Wizard Blast as his normal attack. Also, Elves got moved to the bottom because only their archers are good, but the sword and spear units are overpriced for being so weak. So are the cavalry and the heroes.

This keeps popping up every time I insert disc 4 of 6. The computer makes it to 64% and can't go any further. We already bought a whole new computer with tons of memory for storing the game data, but it can't load it for some reason. The disc is fine, my dad cleaned it and we tried at least 10 times afterwards. The old computer we had would get stuck the same way. :(

Hey there again first, do anyone know about Edain Mod for ROTWK? It's 4.0 had released like 5 months ago but I've just found this out. You can find it at moddb and I find it so coooool.

:( That's not good, my computer needs to be cleaned, it gets reeealy hot.

Do I need the expansion to play Edain Mod? Because otherwise I feel stupid for buying the base game. I already know of Edain and I see BBB's YT channel commenting on most of RuudDevil's Edain vids.

I would rather play the base game with ROTWK, personally. Edain Mod does look cool, and I didn't know this could happen, but, it's too much. Maybe once I get used to playing on PC and using the new Angmar units, I would reconsider, but for now, it doesn't appeal to me.

You need ROTWK for Edain, but I believe you can download it illegally for free if you're up for that. I didn't do that, though at least if I did, I would be able to lay the game instead of getting stuck like this. I really have no idea what to do to fix this issue.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I would need to play ROTWK to know whether or not I would like Edain, although I think I could play Edain 3.8 all day (i dislike being constrained in to building plots) I now feel better about getting the base game as I can actually play both Edain and ROTWK if I choose to get them by whatever means.

ROTWK is a nice addition to base game I think, not just the Angmar but configurations for other races and substituons for the slipped units/heroes. Though I only played classic BFME2 when doing campaigns, it still feels some clunky after playing a one-level-ahead game. I recommend playing the expansion.

I would play anything if it meant that I could actually play BFME2. Does anyone know how to fix the problem, or what to try doing?

Yeah, but I ordered the base game on eBay (If I had bought the people selling DVD's of the expansion, would it have both?)

Ive already looked on eBay for the expansion, when I find a good one I'll get it. When I get bored I'll download Edain (3.8 unless they fix 4.1 or go back to free building)

Also Imladris and Arnor look really fun. I think I'm just a sucker for elves.

Sorry BBB I'm terrible with technology. If I could think of anything I would, but I'm sorry I can't :(

I'll just have to get another game, then. I'll try to contact the seller, and hopefully I'll be able to share more interesting things about the game then. :(

*Goes further into e-Bay induced depression*

I'm inclined not to trust any of the online download things. I guess I'm just going to have to wait.

My game still refuses to work. What a waste of money. I at least still have the Xbox version, as limited as it is.

That's a real shame :/ Contact the seller and organise a refund, if you can't leave a review saying what a lying cheating bastard they are.
