Buying heroes with gems

NOTE: (I'm not suggesting this because I'm "cheap". I own several paid heroes.)
Whenever this is suggested, people ramble on about how ironhide can't make any money if heroes are essentially free. There's an easy solution to this. Make the hero-gem prices extremely high. Simply make the exchange rate 20000 gems for the equivalent of a dollar. That's 120k for a hero like Phoenix, and only very dedicated players will ever be able to get that.

This is a dupe, this has been suggested before. And it's bad. It's like walking into MacDonald's, and trying to pay for a meal with Happy Meal toys. It's not how the world works.

I ate in it once. And I regret it. BURGERS TASTE LIKE SH*T THERE. I wonder how advertising and a bunch of toys made a bad restaurant that famous.

I ate almost constantly there since I was five years old. Until, when I was eleven, I saw a black thing in the chicken nugget(Nothing you'd see outside normal meat, probably a nerve or blood vessel, but I am EXTREMELY PICKY when it comes to meat. Especially then.) and I completely stopped eating there. Forever. Haven't touched McDonalds since.

Why are we talking about McDonald's instead of arguing and rambling on about buying things with gems?
