A quick prediction, and other stuff

I really wasn't sure where to put this topic, but I think this is the most appropriate area.

At least on IOS, beyond the main campaign we have:
1 "Grasslands" stage (Ruins of Acaroth)
1 "Grasslands" mini-campaign (Hushwood and its second stage that I forget the name of.)
1 "Mountains" stage (Sarelgaz's Lair)
1 "Mountains" mini-campaign (New Troll areas)
1 "Deadlands" stage (Rotten Forest)

So, I predict that at some point in the future, we'll be getting a "Deadlands" 2 level mini-campaign, which will probably be the final update for KR1, if we're keeping with the pattern.

Do you agree? Disagree? Do you have any ideas as to what that campaign may be? Post them here.

And before you ask, yes, I have ideas. I'll add them later when I have more time.

It could happen stands to reason!

I was thinking exactly the same, so I agree ^^ It could be an undead mini-
campaign or a demon one, probably the latter. I am not really sure about where
on the map exactly it should take place, but they might just add a little to the
map for it. I believe they did the same for the troll mini-campaign after all C:

p.s. the stage after Hushwood is called Bandit's Lair :D

Ah, thanks. I thought it was something like that. Anyhoo, here's my idea.

The two part campaign will take place near the Rift of Cinders, and involve demons. The two levels are "Rift's Edge" and "Rift of Cinders." The placement would be off to the right of "The Dark Tower," one between the Rift and those plateau things, and one on the Rift itself.

Plot description:

Rift's Edge
Time to mobilize the armies once more, General. There have been reports coming in from the remains of the Dark Tower. More demons are appearing, and earthquakes are churning the land. The creatures there are in a state of unrest, and the Rift of Cinders seems to be expanding! It could be nothing, but being so close to Vez'nan's tower, we must investigate the sudden influx of dark creatures. Especially as it seems another portal to the Nether is taking shape...

Rift of Cinders
General! This is worse than we feared- a crisis that could destroy the world. Deep within the Rift of Cinders, a series of portals to the Nether have been formed- in fact, the Rift is being magically terraformed so that it is a part of the Nether! The huge amount of magic there is expanding the Rift and causing the quakes, but an active gateway to the Nether would be disastrous. Worse than that, it seems that the new Demon King, Balthaezeras, has amassed an army of hundreds of thousands of demon warriors within, and prepares to march on us!

You MUST close the gateway to the Nether and stop Balthaezeras! If that army gets through the portal, they would be strong enough to conquer and destroy not just our kingdom, but the entire world! For the sake of everyone on this planet, you must not fail.

(IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ A WALL OF TEXT, SKIP TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POST. I SUM IT UP.)

New enemies introduced in the campaign-
Demon Mage- A small, spiteful creature, capable of throwing fire at its enemies.
Health- 200, Attack- 50-70
Physical Defense- None, Magic Defense- High
Speed- Medium, Life Taken- 1 Life
Specials- Infernal Combustion, Ranged Area Attack

Demonic Slayer- The ultimate fighters of the demon races, the Slayers are ready to kill anyone who gets in their way and drain the life from their bodies.
Health- 1200, Attack- 30- 80
Physical Defense- High, Magic Defense- Low
Speed- Medium, Life Taken- 5 Lives
Specials- Infernal Combustion, Life Drain (Heals themselves for a small portion of the damage they deal.)

Fire Elemental- A violent, hateful creature born from the fires of the Rift of Cinders
Health- 800, Attack- 32-48
Physical Defense- Low, Magic Defense- Medium
Speed- Slow, Life Taken- 2 Lives
Specials- Flaming (damages those who attack it in melee), Ranged Attack, Area Attack, Splits into Firelings on death. (3 of them.)

Firelings- Tiny spirits of fire, they are very weak and very quick.
Health- 50, Attack- 12-18
Physical Defense- None, Magic Defense- Low
Speed- Fast, Life Taken- 1 LIfe
Specials- Flaming

Balthaezeras- The Demon King, he has amassed a huge army of demons, and now leads them into battle to conquer the world! The most powerful and and dangerous of all demons.
Health- 10000, Attack- 200-500
Physical Defense- None, Magic Defense- Low
Speed- Slow, Life Taken- 20 Lives
Specials- Boss, Ranged Area Attack, FLYING. (To be clear, he will still stop and attack any soldiers he comes across with his ranged attack. They just can't hit him without some sort of ranged attack.)

The Rift's Edge would be a fairly normal level, with many maze like paths and a couple places the enemy can reach you, probably a portal to the Nether. It would add in the new enemies, except for the Demonic Slayer and boss, have all the standard Dead Lands enemies. The twist would be the edge of the Rift at the bottom of the map. It would be these glowing cracks in the ground, which will occasionally spawn Firelings, and will also send out quakes that stun your reinforcements and fighters from time to time. Maybe it could expand and change the paths somehow.

I've given much more thought to "Rift of Cinders." This one would be deep within the Rift, with lots of winding paths, lava down below you, and little stone pillars with spots for towers. There would also be a network of ever-changing Nether portals to release demons from, the lava would spawn Firelings and Fire Elementals, and a collapsed part would allow non-demon enemies to march down into the rift.
But here's the cool part. For some waves, half the screen will start sparking, changing a bit. When the wave finishes, that half (the half opposite from you one entrance you need to protect) will change into part of the Nether. This is the effect of this area becoming part of the Nether- ANOTHER HALF AREA, WHICH YOU CAN ONLY ACCESS AND BUILD TOWERS IN WHEN IT'S OPEN. You'd have some time to build before the wave began, and it would last for a wave or two before vanishing.

The OTHER cool part is the Final Wave, when the new FLYING BOSS Balthaezeras shows up. The portal network collapses, and the Nether Gate opens, revealing the three different paths enemies can come down in the Nether, plus a new one for Blathaezeras, etc. etc. etc.

However, each little skull bubble will say that it's sending every type of demon enemy at you- (Mage, Spawn, Lord, Hound, Imp, Slayer.) The number for each type...let's say, oh, 2000. 12000 enemies per bubble. About...six? Six bubbles, probably. So you look at the final wave, and you see that about 72000 enemies are coming your way, plus Balthaezeras and his Imps. Because he has a huge army, and having them be enough that you could never conceivably win gives it an awesome feel.

So how DO you win? Simple. Kill the Boss. If you kill Balthaezeras, the Nether Gate closes, and the entire army is left trapped on the other side. But it would make the last wave very difficult, since there would be a lot of enemies, with no break until the boss is dead. Just gives it an epic feel.

ANYHOO, IF YOU DIDN'T BOTHER TO READ THAT WALL OF TEXT, HERE'S A QUICK SUMMATION.
-Demon King Balthaezeras is amassing a huge demon army within the Rift of Cinders and is pulling the Rift into the Nether. The plot is that you must close the portal that is letting them come through.
-5 new enemies, including the boss, Balthaezeras, WHO CAN FLY. (Still fights your troops, though. Stops to hit them with a ranged attack.)
-Lava cracks from the rift spawn fire creatures in both levels.
-In second level, half of the level layout will sometimes switch to another world for a wave or two. That world will have new tower slots, new pathways, and release a lot of demons, and you can only build there when the portal to it is open.
-Balthaezeras, the demon king, the flying boss comes out of that other world. The wave that comes with him is about 72000 demons, an unbeatable force. The only way to stop them is to kill Balthaezeras, which will close the portal to the other area, trapping the demon army back in the Nether, and restoring that half of the map to normal. You win!

I really like your ideas and they would introduce some hard and new mechanics to play with. But, couldn't you technically just continually nuke the 72000 enemies? Or have big berthas all the way to the sides of the rift? I have 15 nukes at my disposal and I'm not afraid to use them!!!! Hahahaha :)

Well, maybe. But the thing is, eventually they'll overwhelm you, no matter how many nukes you had. The number isn't important, the point is that the wave is supposed to be pretty much unending. A ton of enemies, and eventually, they'll overwhelm you unless you beat the boss. (Plus it's rendered moot by the fact that the boss getting through is an insta-kill.

Oh, and thanks, I'm glad you like it.

They still need to make a Rocketman level that takes place in space. Or on the Moon. Whichever. =)

There should be a space campaign with the solar system as the map! and the levels are different planets or moons! There would be so many different possibilities for enemies and/or levels!?

I love your idea with the huge waves. I think the boss should fly away when you drop a nuke and come back immediately after, as well as not being affected by freezes because he is so hot.

I haven't bought any nukes yet, how do they usually affect the boss?

I'm assuming everything would affect him the way the usually affect bosses.

IIRC nukes do nothing against bosses.

Nukes are not present in Flash :P
