Is it too late to voice my little negative thing? Yeah it probably is, but if you want to vote for mine just leave a comment!

Green slime!

Scattered around the level are massive pits of green jelly-like slime and there are a number of towers spots available around the pits. But building around the pits is risky, however.

Every 30 seconds, a glob of slime will shoot out of the pits and completely cover a nearby tower. The difference between this and JT s freeze ability is that you can't free your towers by clicking. They must free themselves.

For example, a glob with 400 hp might fly out and cover a lvl 1 Mage tower. It is obviously going to take a while to free this Mage, as it doesn't do very much dmg to the glob. But if a glob of 400 hp hits an arcane wizard, it will probably only take 5 hits to be destroyed and the tower can continue to be used.

The globs can also hit troops and elementals, and they too, must free themselves, but can be helped by the surrounding towers. The globs covering soldiers, although rendering them useless might only have 100 hp.

Effects of spells:

Sniper shot: can be used against the globs
Overcharge: if a tower next to a tesla with the static field is trapped, although the tesla can't target the glob directly, its static field can.
Poison: if a rangers hideout with poison dmg is trapped, the poison is ineffective
Throwing axes: barbarians with throwing axes can attack globs that are in nearby towers
Polymorph: can target globs even if the tower itself is not trapped. Polymorph causes the glob to shrivel up to a tiny one, making it easier to kill.
Death ray: can be used if the arcane wizard is trapped to disintegrate the glob and can help out nearby towers.
Teleport: as a glob is flying towards the arcane tower or a nearby one, teleport can cause the glob to fly back into the pits.
Special missile: will target other towers that are trapped and the big Bertha itself if it is trapped.
Holy strike - can be used to free a trapped paladin and does do AoE dmg if there are globs or other enemies around.

Cluster bomb- ineffective
Chain lightning - ineffective
Elemental- ineffective
Shrapnel shot - ineffective
Wrath of the forest- ineffective
More axes - ineffective
Whirlwind attack - ineffective
Shield of valor- ineffective
Healing light- ineffective

Reinforcements: if equipped with throwing spear, can target trapped towers
Rain of fire: can be used to attack globs and free towers.

Each killed glob gives you 50 gold.

Hope you liked my negative level addition thing, but it was a bit late :( :(

I like spark123's alien tower, kind of scary. It would be nice to see a field of alien movie nests in the Blackburn expansion. This could be useful to play some stages like an arcade action game combined with strategy depending on how the glob thingy affects each of your towers/troops.

So obelisks make both your units and enemy's immortal ? cool idea..i envision lots of crowded quarrels playing with this obelisk..but as in the movie Highlander, what breaks the tie finally ?

How do the mages of haste get to the tower? is it based on some player action?

I wonder what provokes the sandstorms ? does it follow a pattern ? the idea of cover tower slots and change road paths based player's decisions is interesting ? perhaps the player could provoke landslides when placing a tower over a dune causing changes in the landscape/roads..

Again in the jail and dark avengers, what is the player action that causes them to come into play ?

About graboids, isn't that taken from the movie Tremors ?

I'd imagine that the tower is already filled with the mages at the very beginning of the game; not entirely sure though.

For the jail, the creator mentioned that the enemies spawn at random, like the thingies from Cursed Treasure 2.

I don't understand how the Dark Avengers works really. :U

EDIT: If anyone wants me to answer kilele for you, just PM me the reply.

Alright, got two replies:

kilele wrote:

"TheHallMonitor is right, the mages are already in the tower when the game begins. And the tower already exists at that spot as well.

I forgot to mention one thing, once all the mages are gotten rid of, the tower goes away as well. Making a new spot for your own personal use. So even if you don't mind the enemies being sped up - it still might be worth it to free up that nice strategic spot."

kilele wrote:I wonder what provokes the sandstorms ? does it follow a pattern ? the idea of cover tower slots and change road paths based player's decisions is interesting ? perhaps the player could provoke landslides when placing a tower over a dune causing changes in the landscape/roads..

"The player's actions probably wouldn't affect the sandstorm. The way it would work is that if the level had a specific set up, there would be three or so options as to what new configurations the sandstorm would make, and one of those would be picked at random. Then that configuration would have its own options, and so on and so forth. Over time, what gets covered up and revealed would make things more difficult as well. Hopefully that clarifies things."

kilele wrote:

"Actually, the Jail enemies don't spawn at random, the player just doesn't get any warning (like the Magma Elementals do in the Forsaken Valley)"

kilele wrote:About graboids, isn't that taken from the movie Tremors ?

"Please tell kilele that graboids look like massive worms surging from the sands only when they detect tremors on the same spot, that is when your soldiers stop the enemy. On every appearance two of your soldiers and two enemies vanish to be devoured underground."

HEY, people. Please vote. No voting makes HallMonitor sad. :(

I am sure there are at least two people who did only one vote, as I've been following
the poll's progress... still have to vote myself though, will do so fairly soon :D

I find Sandstorm to be a great idea. Original, and random. I like it.

Other than that, Jail.

What I mean is that comparatively to the others its fourth. Plus the chatter on the thread has been based around others. I particularly liked that one.

I agree with you RedBull, the Obelisk is an awesome idea.
As for me, there are two towers that add something to the strategy (and not only boost enemy troops or add an extra enemy):
The obelisk makes it useless to invest in barracks around the spots they are and forces you to make a different set-up or destroy it.
The Sandstorm leads to a less predictable gameplay where you constantly have to invent a new best strategy (dependable on the amount of variations of the tracks that get covered/uncovered).

Although I do think my idea should be top 2, I didn't vote
for it. Looking forward to see who will win this contest ^^
