Its an image of James Doakes from the TV show Dexter, directly before he says the oft-used-as-a-sound-effect quote "surprise motherf*cker", linking to how Saurian has suddenly appeared, like a wild pokemon from the grass.

The large red unit certainly has armor, signified by no HP bar being displayed upon being hit, and by the small blue armor symbols that appear whenever said unit is hit. I can't be sure, but it looks like the player called in an air strike to do with away with this threat. If that is so, then it appears that friendly fire is a thing, which I like. If not, then another possibility is that the red unit called in a suicidal air strike, which, as noted by BBB in the case of the turret gif, seems like an annoying AI who's only focus is to deal some damage, without care for its own survival.

Also, based on the few frames after the cycling of the animation, the soldier likely is not built, but rather summoned, more similarly to a Protoss warp-in then a Terran build. (You can see the few vertical light streams, or something similar, which seem out of place otherwise)

Did anyone notice the yellow number 99 above the blue soldier's head as he died? There's one for the creature, too, but I can't make it out.

Did the player get points for killing owned troops? Could that be a damage value(not as likely)? Could the marine have dropped gold for being slain? Or was that for a third party?

You're right! And it's the same kind of yellow number that appeared when the enemies in the turret gif were killed. :o

Had a short convo with Tats, and he said that Iron Marines does, in fact, have Heroes. And it will, in fact, have supercool female heroes who are cool af like Lynn on-point.

IMAGINE HEROES LIKE LYNN IN IRON MARINES.

LYNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.

TaTa: i've been pushing for some cool female Heroes
TaTa: and you DO have something to do with it
TaTa: your views on Catha made me realize that we needed to improve the way we make female Heroes

Heroes have been confirmed. Female heroes have not, until now. :D

By comparing them to Lynn, I wonder how similar they'll be. Probably, the only trait that they'll share is strength, independence, and the like, but not being purple Elves with magic. ;)

Yellow number is number of devs crying in the world at that moment.

Also its damage.

I kinda wanna see control groups added, though I don't know how they would be implemented smoothly. On-screen buttons? Also, some units with special abilities (like the mothership in SC2) would be nice, as opposed to everything being a pile of stats. :)

That vid has a lot of information.
First off, the main enemies (race?) are called the Fellwrights.
Based on the fact that the Etherium counter (top left) constantly regenerates, it's plausible that Etherium is generated from a building, instead of w/ worker units like Starcraft.
On top of that, there seems to be a unit counter, meaning there is likely a Starcraft-esque supply/control/psi system.
The top right are menus and quests, I'm guessing.
Hero's in the bottom left, and seems to have two activated abilities. However, they seem to have a red and blue countdown time. Not sure what that means.
The large circle on the bottom, closest to the center, seems to be a spell that summons mini-turrets.
And the other three icons in the bottom right seem to be power-ups, I'm betting. The first summons an air strike.
Image
Red circle building looks to be a training center.
The orange one is an Etherium Mine/Extractor.
Yellow looks to be a command center or something.
Green's a turret.
And the light blue looks to be a place to get Etherium/place Mines.
Interestingly, things are constructed from the Mines.
Image
Red's the Fellwright lab/nest.
Orange shows the Mine activating some kind of shield.
Image
Apparently, the base defense upgrade pattern is non-linear.
The little mortar (red) can be upgraded into a machine gun turret (orange) or a missile turret (yellow).
However, later in the video we see Gonzalo upgrade the machine gun into a missile turret.
Image
Seems to be pretty tempting for SJW's. ;)

I think that what you called the Command Center is your base for the level.

Thanks, Aeris! :yey:

The separate cooldowns for the rocket skill are for 2 different purposes. The ability is a temporary buff, so the first cooldown shows how long the buff is active, while the second shows how long you must wait before using the buff again. The buff appears to amplify the hero's attack speed.

Also, MetroPCS? Judgejudgejudgejudgejudgejudgejudgejudge...
