Do you think they’ll release a trailer for this new world?

As I have been a beta tester the whole way through, allow me to guarantee that this is by far Ironhide’s biggest update, and one so fun that it rivals Shadowmoon and Rising Tides. :D

Also how can we access the official ironhide games discord server? Can someone give us access?

Now that the new planet is out, is there a plan to patch in fun later?

I've always preferred the Kingdom Rush to Iron Marines, but it seems like late game content for both has been falling into the same trap of offering challenge in a way that takes some of the fun out (I think that the every single post-campaign set in Frontiers was more fun than every single set in Origins). I'm a few missions into the Borealis update, and it feels like a chore.

Some things I don't enjoy:
1. Spending massive amounts of time building up resources... It feels like I'm constantly defending my base with everything I have and it takes me too long to get out on the map and actually try to take on mission objectives. This is on something like normal difficulty, with full upgrades. On the second planet, it seemed like there were enough bases to get resources quickly and some new forces if my tactics failed. It hasn't felt that way in the new update.

2. Having to tap on things for seemingly no reason... While I understand the logic with needing to tap on the walls, I've been having trouble with this mechanic. In KR, when you need to tap on a tower, there's some sort of visual indicator that it's working. The tapping seems to work okay with the invisible wolf things (even though I dislike it as a mechanic), but I've managed to dogpile all of my troops on portals, tapping away furiously, and it frequently doesn't seem to work. Even if this worked flawlessly, I still think it actively makes the game less fun. I play tactics games to focus on what units to build, and what to do with them. Particularly on a mobile device that I might be playing on the subway, it's less than ideal to have to furiously tap on my phone screen like an idiot.

God this new world is murder. The enemies are so strong even on Casual they're overwhelming.

I personally love this update. It has the highest replay value so far of all the game's missions. Definitely challenging but the new heroes make it a blast. I’m particularly fond of Roy, but all of them are cool.

I play on the basis that while the arsenal purchases and new heroes are nice for making things easy, they should never feel essential, and the game can be won with just the basic heroes and effective strategy.

I finished the first two worlds on impossible with Taggins (Kara has okay range, but is too weak. Paragon is just abysmal). I'm close to finishing the tech tree, but even what upgrades I haven't completed don't feel like they'd make a difference at how exasperating new world is.

Reiterating what BigLou mentioned, trying to build up your defences slows the game down where its no fun. A strategy I was forced to use to pass the second level was abusing the Channellers phase movement and bypassing enemy lines to scavenge for command points. Then it's getting as many Brawlers as I can and letting them sit undisturbed until I build enough forces/fortifications. It makes it that much more frustrating, (especially with the time wasted on the extra turret level upgrades you expect will keep them alive) that this world viciously counter-swarms you after you take an objective in a way that previous two worlds never did, and you come out with less then you gained, if not an outright loss for the half-hour or more investment put in one level.

Given another try, I might be able to beat the third mission, Game of Horns, on my next try, but moving with the mechas to siege has never been fun because of how slow they go, and it irritates me how the new enemies can hit you from the fog of war without revealing themselves. As for the two spec op missions - even with a maxed tech tree, I can't even figure out how to beat them at this point without stockpiling on arsenal.

Maybe it's just a case of needing to "get gud" but the swarm spamming of this world feels out of place in a way that doesn't fit the mechanic established by the first two worlds. If there's a balance patch, I might give it another go. It's challenging right now, but not in a fun way.

I've uploaded the basics for the new enemies to the IM Wiki

https://iron-marines-official.wikia.com ... ry:Enemies

Obviously it's only verbatim from the game, but eventually, we'll get round to adding proper information and strategies.
