speculations about Ironhide's new game !

so after Frontiers landed on steam .. Devs said that they will be working on a new game.

what is the game that Ironhide could be making? .. what is the game that Ironhide Should be making ?!

well .. I am an underdog game developer/designer .. yet i think i might have an idea about what type of game ironhide is gonna make!

first there are somethings any new game from ironhide "MUST" met

- it must be released for mobile touchscreen platforms ios/Android..
- so it must be playable with one/two fingers. (only mouse)

and there are things we know about Ironhide like

- they like defense games .. (clash of the Olympians / KR )
- they are really good at it!
- they are creative about units and heroes
- they like middle age stuff.

so it is highly possible that the new game will have the defense element and also have units and heroes because

- they have earned lots of experience on this type of games
- they can reuse lots of the code they have written before
- they can actually reuse some parts they have designed before like the heroes in KR/KRF.

have you seen these games before ?

I think the new Ironhide game will have a mix of all this .. where you can hire uints/heroes .. upgrade them .. fight monsters and hordes of enemies in an open arena .

I would love to see KR/KRF Heroes in a bigger size fights monsters .. no towers ofcourse !

It *could* be some sort of 3D RTS game, like DOTA or Starcraft. But personally, I'm more interested in a tower defense/FPS hybrid like Sanctum or Dungeon Defenders. And there seems to be a trending hands-off approach with games like Gratuitous Space Battles and Battledroid, where you setup all your towers and strategy beforehand, and then watch the battle play out automatically with little to no player intervention. I could enjoy that as well.

But it might end up being a soccer game, or a drug-selling strategy game.

I think that it would most likely be an expansion of TD with some other elements, but honestly I don't know. I feel like they want to update KRF a bit more first.

I thought Ironhide wanted to take a break from KR? I personally think they will do something radically new for their next game. But that's just me.

All daydreaming aside, if I had to bet what their next game would be, I would say Kingdom Rush 3, but with the same things you would expect from the first two games. Given the similarities between KR and KRF, the devs seemed to have only made small changes and improvements here and there. Sure, different maps, towers, enemies and heroes, but the same mechanics, foundations and strategies involved. In other words, they made the sequel predictable, which fosters comfort in the community. And when you have something that's working and successful with the community, why mess that up by going in a completely new direction with some 3D version? Something like that might be reserved for a KR4.

this is really interesting !

it is not that far away from what i expected .. there will be defense and units/heroes in bigger size .. how ever i am not sure about how the towers will be presented in such a game

stay approximately the same, as long as the artists are the same ones ^^

PS Battleheart is amazing, cannot wait for the spiritual successor to be released.

If they were going to make that totem idea for a new tower in a KR game, i think it would go well with artillary or archers, something like that. I don't think my idea could work though

I once said that we won't see a new game from Ironhide till 2015 .. i think this is still true!

after KRF and all the details they won't be releasing a small casual game .. even if they have already started working on the new game .. the best thing that could happen is for it to be released at the end of this year 2014 on Christmas.

not sure if they will give us some early sneak peaks or we will wait until some website releases tons of it !

I have a lot of trust and faith in Ironhide as a game studio .. even the basic idea of the game is done before i am pretty sure ironhide's game will have a lot of new ideas and elements and style that makes it stand out completely and even look like it is completely a new idea.

it is pretty known that for a better marketing for your game you should start making a buzz around it while it still in development.
