Yes, Microsoft existed in '84.

Interwebs weren't around till '94, but computers were defiantly around (granted the PC barely made it in by a stretch. I would really like to see one of those old computers that required a whole room to use, and didn't even have the capability to draw an image on the screen )

Technically they've been around quite awhile. The abacus is considered one of the earliest computing devices and its been around for centuries. As for computers as we know them today they started to come into being sometime in the 50's.
