I'm saying bye (sort of).

Anything and everything.

I'm saying bye (sort of).

by The_TaTs » Fri Dec 16, 2016 9:19 pm

Hi there, you bunch of beautiful freaks.

As of yesterday, I no longer work at Ironhide and I thought that you guys deserve to know.

I'm leaving to pursue my true calling of staring at windows when it rains while listening to Adelle songs. I actually have some projects that I've been postponing for years, it involves writing and I might share some news later on, but not as an admin or a part of Ironhide. I will be another user, just like all of you.

I'm not sure who will take over as Community Manager, but I'm sure that it will be a fantastic person... because that's the kind of people Ironhide hires (myself not included, I'm beyond fantastic... I'm mythical, like a Unicorn).
So, when the time comes and this new Community Manager shows up, I'm expecting you guys to be as welcoming and nice as you were with me. I'll accept no excuses if you don't.

Anyways... I guess that's all. I had an insane amount of fun with all of you. And I'll probably hang out here and Discord whenever I can.

See you around. :hero:

Since you're saying "Bye (sort of)", I'll return the favor with "Good luck (sort of)". :P

You've been a great CM, and I hope you have fun doing whatever it is that you are going to do now. :hero:

Well I won't say I'm not saddened to hear you are leaving, but if it's to pursue your dreams of writing about windows then I'm super pleased for you. You've been a great Community Manager both here and in Facebook, and you will be missed by us all. The best of luck to you TaTs!

I hope (sly) meet you again. You can return if you want. I think you are the most active community manager on this website. We will miss you Tats and I hope good luck with your project on windows.

Whaaaaaaaaat?!

NOOOOOOOOOOO?!

Aaaag Tats you've been a mainstay of the Forums ever since I joined and you're all a community like ours could ask for. I'll miss your sardonic wit and wish you luck for the future. I hope I'll like the next Community Envoy as I do you because you're one of the main reasons I've stayed with the franchise, your constant humour in the facebook and twitter posts is great and your steady hand on the tiller of the forums has lead to some great changes, such as the new mods, ask the studio thread, Community hero and conveying our ideas and recommendations to the rest of the team.

I'll miss you and hope to speak again.

Also I'm really sorry for all those times I answered and spoke out of turn on the Ask the Studio thread,
"Aragorn: [Elvish] Sit down, Legolas."

Tats, you've made a fantastic impact on my life. You've heard plenty of times before that you've been an amazing community manager and friend, and you deserve every word of praise you've received. The attitude you have about life, the creative, sarcastic wit, the articulate wisdom that you carry in your words; all of it embodies the best parts of Ironhide that I've come to respect in the company and in you.

This has been a rough year, probably the roughest for the Ironhide business since there's just work on the games and not any releases. Your leaving sort of represents the hardships this year for the company, to me, and the fact that I learned this news on the rainiest day in my town in a long time doesn't help make this less sad, but I'm happy for you at the same time. Things are going to get better, Tats. You're a great person. I know your writing will inspire others, as your words already inspire me. :)

Good luck out there! :hero:

My point is that everyone is repeating my joke about him writing about windows as if that's what he is actually doing.

Wow... That's sad.

He is going to pursue writing for sure (it was mentioned on Discord), but most likely not about windows. However, I'm sure Tats could make make a book about windows fascinating if he wanted to. ;)

My first book will be:

"Doors: An Essay on passing through."

I think it will be a best seller.
