CONTEST: Christmas Comedy!

With Halloween firmly behind us and the next big holiday in a months time (I'm British so sorry Thanksgiving) it's time for a big festive contest! I'm reusing the templates from the ill fated Iron Marines contest, so you can guess that we're having a Christmas Mini-Campaign! There's one big thing about this though, and that's that it has to be funny! Yes, this isn't just Christmas but it's comedy too! So you have extra time to make sure your campaign is humorous too, but that doesn't mean unbalanced!

Your basic requirements are:

  • 2-3 levels maximum
  • Include a level intro (General we have encountered...etc.)
  • Recurring enemies if present
  • 2-5 new enemies
  • 1 unique level feature, positive or negative
  • 1 boss
  • 1 secondary Hero

I have helpfully provided forms with all the necessary fields for you to fill out.

Level Form

Level Name:

Intro:

Setting: A short description of the environment (eg. Field, Ice, Jungle, etc) or where on the map it's located.

Level Description: (include a picture of the layout if you wish)

Recurring Enemies:

New Enemies:

Enemy (x 2-5) and Boss Form

Name:
Appearance:

HP:
Damage:
Armour rating:
Magic resistance:
Speed:
Lives Taken:
Skills:

Description:

Feature Form

Name:

Type: Positive or Negative
Trigger: Passive (works on its own eg. The Moon) or Aggressive (must be activated eg. Magic Blossoms)
Effect:

2ndry Hero Form

Name:

Description:

HP:
Melee:
Armor:
Speed:
Respawn:

Skills: Secondary heroes should have no more than two skills.

Quotes:

Lore: Make this short, the entire campaign is the subject of the contest, not how interesting you can make the hero's story.

Final Requirements
  • You have until 10 December to submit your entry (3 weeks!).
  • All entries must be submitted to me via a Private Message.
  • I will accept edits and updates on your entries up until the closing date. Please resend the entire entry and I will use your most recent submission.
  • I need your entire entry in one PM. Sections sent separately will not be counted.
  • As has been the case with previous contests, entries that include more than is required (eg. 8 enemies or additional hero skills) will be disqualified. You will be given one warning about this when your entry is first submitted.
  • Do not move fields around in the forms, and do not add new fields. Fields should only be removed if necessary, such as removing Magic resistance or Armour where only one is required.
  • Hand-drawn or stylised artwork is disqualified, as it makes the entrant too obvious.

Any questions, or if there's anything I have missed out, let me know here.

I hope I can find the time and motivation to do this, because I'd love to.

I don't have initial ideas which could be the kicker though.

I think I have a decent idea in mind, so I´ll join. I´m not sure if the concept in my head fits the ´funny´ theme as much as it fits a ´quirky´ theme though.

I'll join, but it will probably end up lacking in the 'funny' department :s

I have nothing. I'm only contextually humorous. (In other words, you have to know me really well and understand the way I think to get my humor. Also, most of the time that I say funny stuff, the stuff that I say spawns from a specific situation.)

me too. I'm not convinced that my entry is sufficiently humorous for a contest about humor, so I focused more on the christmas/winter theme instead.

It's really hard to be humorous if there's no specific situation to play of off.

None, I haven't even done my own. Admittedly I've had the worst cold for the past two weeks but yeah. Brain drain.

I've got something that I can submit by Saturday; I just have too much to focus on in school right now. Once we stop having so much homework and the teachers give us "time to study for finals," I'll use that extra time for my entry instead. :P

I kinda gave up on it, but I can try to make something. It'll be missing most of the funny factor though. ;)

We could extend the contest by a week, leaving voting to end by New Year's instead. I personally am fine with this contest, but for those who don't have any ideas to and comedy to their entries, we could let them submit Christmas entires to a separate category, without humor as a part of it. :)

I think just removing the humor aspect of the contest would be fine. Thinking of something Christmassy is much easier if you don´t have to worry about it being funny.

Also, I think I can finish my entry today, so personally I wouldn´t want the whole thing to be blown off to make time for a smaller contest.
