CAP Project - Details

@RaZoR: Yeah, I don't mind. But, I do want to expand it, since we'll be adding all the details here.

Hmm, I was thinking... Perhaps I could make up a quick HTML page for this stuff and link it on GitHub? (I believe code can be pasted there)

Anyway, other stuff:
-I like Hysterna or Hyackle for the final name. The abilities also look good.
-Those Pokedex descrips. are perfect. Captures the essence of the Dex quite well. (Though I mean the regular dex. The Rotom Dex is a whole other matter)
-If it's going to look like a dragon, adding Intimidate, at least for the final form, seems like a good idea.
-Any suggestions for the other Grass Starter names? {Stage 2 and 3} {or 1 and 2 by TCG rules}
-Glad you like the names.
-Malamyst sounds good.
-Noble Roar sounds good as well.

So we are going to break the tradition of the starters having overgrow, torrent and blaze, right?

After much annoyances, I made a simple page for the details: (Currently the only data is for the starters)

(tell me if it needs improvements, I'll try and figure it out)

I made some concept art for the snek. I think the fist-like crown could be a bit more established, but the general design mostly turned out like I had in mind. I guess it should be longer and slicker to emphasize its quickness. Thoughts?

For the moment it's good. Maybe add in a place for pokedex entries (which by the way I love writing).

Yeah, I added that. It'll be pushed soon, along with a space for classification.

As for Magnus' snake, it looks pretty good, but it doesn't look fully evolved to me. First stage for sure, but a second would have to be longer, and perhaps cooler looking.

I was thinking that, since the Dragonfly is first found in the west, then the it should evolve somewhere in the east, with an equivalent Bug evolving in the opposite way. Perhaps in Dracomire Heights?

That works. Maybe have the scorpion do the same?

I wrote Pokedex entries for the Fire starter.

Flawn

It skips around the open plains. When excited small embers are let go. It is one of the main causes of forest fires.

Berries are its favourite food. It gently warms them with flames then devours them with gusto.

Incandeer

In long leaps it moves quickly from one hunting ground to the next. Each time it touches ground it leaves scorch marks behind.

By moving in herds they concentrate heat inwards, keeping the young and elderly warm during colder periods.

Combustag

The storm like antlers it bares can hold a powerful static charge. It increases it by rubbing them against dry rocks.

When two come together to fight, the impact of their antlers causes lighting strikes to cascade across the sky.

@Razor
Don't forget the trademark randomly disturbing nature of Pokedex entries when you're making these. :D

@Minuet: Of course. We shouldn't make it as creepy as the Rotom Dex though.

@RaZoR: I'm not sure the Scorpion should evolve there, since the area is intended as an area for dragons.
Good entries though.
I'll push an update later.

Also, RaZoR, do Seealer and Eldryad sound like good names for the Grass starter? Or would you rather something different?

And what say you guys of the about 18 pokemon per area, plus 9 starters, plus about 10 legendaries/mythicals for a total of ~125 pkmn?

Okay, I just went with the 18 per area, and numbered the dex to reflect that.
I did, per area, 5 2-stage evolution lines, 2 3-stage lines, and 2 1-stage lines. (That last category could include evolutions to old pkmn *wink* *wink*)

And also:
@RaZoR, thoughts on the names?
@Magnus, thoughts on Guile?

Otherwise, I've made the Albatross 3 stages, and the Snake, Scorpion, and Crab 2 stages.
Since we need a Bug to counter the dragon in Linirea proper, perhaps a Bug that evolves into a Bug/Fairy in Silveroak Forest?

Guile seems fine to me. It's a bit similar to serene grace, but it's also different enough to be used on the same pokemon.

So now the abilities are: slush rush/swift swim, serene grace, guile, right?

So, added:
-Bird Stats
-Bird Abilities (Zhenrush and Secreteel have interesting, if not powerful abilities imo)
-Chicoo Pokedex (May need a dex-ificiation)
-Evolution conditions (L23 in West/East Linirea)

Pokedex Entries for the other starters. I tried to make them a bit more aggressive.

Pixeed

A small tree nymph that wanders the forest sowing seeds and encouraging plants to grow.

It loves tending to gardens. It carries a small stick to fight off any plant eating predators.

Seealer

Fluttering from branch to branch it showers the forest floor with dust that encourages growth.

It will put itself in danger to protect the forest. Predators are struck repeatedly until they flee or cannot move. The forest then takes over.

Eldryad

With staff and shield it defends the forest. It casts powerful spells that devour foes to feed its precious plants.

Tiny plant and bug Pokemon huddle around it for safety. The more damage on its body, the older and stronger it is.

Flufsky

From a young age it hunts fish in shallow pools of water. It's father shows it how best to make a quick kill.

The mother will push them into deep water. If they swim to the shore they are rewarded. If not, they are left to the sea.

Malamyst

It breaths a frosty mist around its body to help hunt on dry land. It uses the arctic winds to sniff out distant prey.

In packs they howl at the full moon. Each one has a different voice, from a distance it sounds like singing.

Gracolar

It is a majestic swimmer, moving through freezing water with speed and grace. Sailors would often mistake it for a mermaid.

It's bountiful fur helps keep it warm on land. In water, it sticks close to the body making it streamlined and graceful.

I also have sketches for the birds. I can upload them or I can draw and colour them properly if anyone wants to see some nice artwork.

I don't really care whether they're in color or not.
However, a note, I was thinking that Secreteel is less like Skarmory in that it has a coat of armor but more so that it has sharp metal attached to its wings.

Ah yes, I somehow neglected your idea for the cover legends being a Knight and a Nomad.
Tying in further, this could be Order vs. Chaos, in a way.
